Lake Elmo Inn is making history with the opening of its new restaurant, 1881 by Lake Elmo Inn, at Union Depot in Saint Paul, debuting on August 8, 2024. Owners Chef John and Christine Schiltz named it "1881" to honor the year both Union Depot and the original Lake Elmo Inn were established, celebrating a rich historical connection.

This family-run venture is operated in part by Frank Hopp, bringing a new generation into the legacy. Combining timeless charm with modern culinary flair, 1881 by Lake Elmo Inn offers a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere.
